Layers and properties

Create a layer, make it current and change an object's layer and colour.

In the app: Help ▸ Guided tours

1. The Layers panel
   This panel lists every layer in the drawing. New objects go on the current layer, marked with a filled dot.
2. Make a layer
   Click + and give the new layer a name.
3. Make it current
   Click the empty circle beside the new layer to make it current. Anything you draw next will be on it.
4. Select an object
   Choose the Select tool, then click an object in the drawing.
5. Change layer and colour
   In Properties, use the Layer list to move the object to another layer, and the Colour list to change its colour.
6. Filter the layers
   Type part of a layer name here to show only matching layers. Clear the box to see them all again.
