Crop and resize pages
Both commands are on the Tools menu and the Pages toolbar button. In the app: Help ▸ Show me
Crop pages
Cropping hides the area outside a box. Margins are trimmed from each page's own edges, as the page is displayed.
Important
The hidden area stays in the file. Cropping is not redaction. To remove content permanently, see Redaction.
- Choose Tools ▸ Crop pages…
- Enter the Top, Right, Bottom and Left margins, and pick the unit: mm or pt (1/72 in).
- Under Apply to, choose which pages to crop.
- Click Crop.
| Apply to | Pages cropped |
|---|---|
| Current page | The page you are viewing |
| Selected pages | The pages selected in the thumbnails |
| Pages: | A range such as 1-3, 5, 8-10 |
| Odd pages / Even pages | Every odd or even page |
| All pages | The whole document |
Draw the box instead
- Click Draw on page, then drag a box on the page.
- Press Enter to apply, or Esc to cancel and restore the earlier values.
The margin fields follow the box as you draw. The box is placed at the same position on every chosen page.
Remove white margins
Click Remove white margins to fill the fields from the content of the current page, plus a small border. Tick Detect each page separately to trim every chosen page by its own content. Blank pages are left as they are.
Resize pages
- Choose Tools ▸ Resize pages…
- Pick a Page size (A4, A3, Letter or Legal), or Custom and enter a width and height in mm or in.
- Choose Portrait or Landscape.
- Under Content, choose Scale to fit (keeps proportions, centred) or Do not scale (centred, and may be clipped).
- Under Apply to, choose the pages, then click Resize.
Tip
Press Undo if the result is not what you wanted. See Undo and redo.
