Rotate, move, reverse and interleave pages
Rotate pages or only the view
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
| In the app: Help ▸ Show me / In the app: Help ▸ Show me on the toolbar | Turns the selected pages (or the current page) and is saved with the file |
| View ▸ Rotate view left / right | Turns the display only; the file is not changed |
You can also press [ or ] with a thumbnail focused. Rotating pages can be undone.
Move pages
- Select the pages in the thumbnails.
- Right-click and choose Move up, Move down, Move to start or Move to end.
Or drag the thumbnails to a new position. A command that would change nothing is greyed out.
Reverse the page order
- Choose Tools ▸ Reverse page order… (needs at least two pages).
- Under Apply to, choose the selected pages or all pages.
- Click Reverse.
Note
With a selection, the selected pages swap among their own positions; other pages stay where they are.
Interleave two scans
Use this when a double-sided document was scanned as two files: one of fronts, one of backs.
- Choose Tools ▸ Interleave pages from PDF….
- Click Choose PDF… or pick an open document for the other sides.
- Tick Second file is in reverse order if the backs were scanned last page first.
- Click Interleave.
The result runs page 1 of the first file, page 1 of the second, page 2 of the first, and so on.
Important
If the files have different page counts, the program warns you and adds the leftover pages at the end.
